A rich Englishman is on safari in Africa. Suddenly, from the faraway distance, he and his party hear drums. "What's that?" he says to his guide, an African."Very bad when drums stop," is his reply.
They continue on for several miles, still hearing the drums. The Englishman becomes increasingly more worried with every step. "What about those drums? he asks his guide once more.
"Very bad when drums stop," is again the African's reply.
The safari stops to camp for the night, and has trouble sleeping as the drums continue, pounding, pounding, pounding!
On waking, the Englishman again asks his guide about the drums. "Very bad when drums stop," is again the reply.
This goes on for three days, then suddenly the drums stop. "Oh my God!", shouts the Englishman. "Now what?!"
The guide, beginning to shudder in fear, says quietly, "Bass solo."
